[edit] Story

[edit] Pre-Mortal Kombat

Shao Kahn was once a servant warrior to Onaga who was once the ruler of Outworld. But in great defiance Kahn turned on Onaga and usurped the throne of the realm. After ousting Onaga from Outworld, he continues with the conquest that Onaga had left behind. He began with lesser realms such as Zaterra and Vaeternus. Then, the Elder Gods insisted that Kahn should only conquer a realm through a martial arts tournament known as Mortal Kombat. Only if Kahn's forces win 10 consecutive Mortal Kombat Tournaments should he conquer a realm. Kahn's forces win one tournament after another and conquered the realms including the gorgeous realm of Edenia where he kills King Jerod and takes Jerod's wife Sindel as his own wife and takes in the infant Kitana and raises her as her personal assassin. As Kahn has taken Edenia, he sets his sights on the last kownn realm, Earthrealm. Kahn's lead scorcerer Shang Tsung was made the tournament's originator and sponsor Outworld in Mortal Kombat in Earthrealm. Kahn's forces have won 9 consecutive Mortal Kombat Tournaments with the help of Shokan warrior Goro who has defeated the shaolin monk Kung Lao.

[edit] Mortal Kombat

As the 10th Mortal Kombat began, Kahn was sure that Earthrealm was his for the taking. But what he was not counting on is that the current generation of Earthrealm warriors lead by the Thunder God Raiden, were determined to defend their realm against Kahn's forces. But it would be Kung Lao's decendant Liu Kang that would go on and defeat both Goro and Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat. As Shang Tsuing returned to Kahn, he ordered Shang Tsung's execution for failing to win Mortal Kombat and the rumor surrounding the apparent death of Goro. But in a last ditch effort Shang Tsung convinced Kahn that he would finish the earthrealm warriors once and for all in an unofficial tournament in the very realm of Outworld. Kahn then gives Shang Tsung another chance to live by restoring his youth and letting him proceed with his plan to lure the Earthrealm warriors into Outworld.

[edit] Mortal Kombat 2

A few months after the tournament Kahn lets Shang Tsung live and enact a plan to lure the Earthrealm warriors into Outworld where they can be finished by Kahn himself. The Tarkatans attacked Earthrealm which lead the Earthrealm warriors into Outworld. Unfortunately, the Earthrealm warriors prevailed and Kitana discovered her true past and turned against Kahn's forces. Kahn would also see Liu Kang in action as he defeats Shang Tsung and the new Shokan general Kintaro. Enraged Kahn fights Liu Kang but would lose to the shaolin monk. As the Earthrealm warriors escape from Outworld and Kitana returning to her realm of Edenia Kahn would come up with a plan that would help him break the Elder Gods' sacred rules of Mortal Kombat and invade Earthrealm: By reviving the body of Sindel.

[edit] Mortal Kombat 3

After Kahn's defeat at the hands of Liu Kang, Kitana and the rest of the forces of light he formulates a plan that will help him invade Earthrealm by defying the sacred rules of Mortal Kombat: reviving Sindel. However Kahn was informed by Shang Tsung that her body would not be revived in Outworld but Earthrealm. So Kahn orders Shang Tsung to lead his shadow preists to Earthrealm and use their powers to revive Sindel. As Sindel was revived Kahn then croses the portals linking Outworld to Earthrealm, he then can finally seize Earthrealm. As Kahn seizes Earthrealm he uses his powers to merge Earthrealm with Outworld and to also claim every human soul in the realm. But he realizes that not all humans were vulnerable to his soul drain powers (the Earthrealm warriors in particular). Kahn has sent his forces lead by the centaur Motaro to consume the last souls of the humans in Earthrealm. But the Earthrealm warriors have stoped them. Kahn would then face Liu Kang once again, but again was defeated. Then, all of his consumed souls drained out of Kahn who disappears into a portal which hangs above his fortress. Much to the dismay of the Earthrealm warriors, Kahn was far from finished. But would not return again until some time.

[edit] Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance

Several years after Kahn's failed attempt at taking Earthrealm through both Mortal Kombat and tyrany, he brooded on the throne of Outworld. But what he would soon realize that he would see Shang Tsung again (after punishing him for his own failed attempts at taking Earthrealm). As Shang Tsung along with fellow scorcerer Quan Chi pledge their allegience to Kahn, they went on to take over the minor realms once again, but as they succeeded Shang Tsung and Quan Chi showed their true intentions and spawned their own attack on the Emperor, killing him. Shang Tsung and Quan Chi formed their own Deadly Alliance and enact their own plan to revive Onaga and his invincible army, they also went on to defeat and kill the Earthrealm warriors (including Liu Kang). As the Deadly Alliance soon achieved their goal and revived Onaga, they tried to destroy him. With Raiden's help, they defeated Onaga's invincible army but not Onaga himself.

[edit] Mortal Kombat: Deception

With much surprise, Shao Kahn returns. It was later determined that a clone created by Kahn's personal scorcerers is what Shang Tsung and Quan Chi actually killed. Now with all knowing the Onaga has returned as well Kahn enacts a plan to finish Onaga once again. He allies himself with Goro to stop Onaga. But as the mysterious warrior named Shujinko went on to defeat Onaga, Kahn tkes this oppertunity to reclaim the throne to Outworld.

[edit] Mortal Kombat: Armageddon

With Kahn once again the Emperor of Outworld, and as the tensions of the realms begin to grow ever stronger, he forms a shaky alliance with his now enemies Shang Tsung, Quan Chi, and even Onaga to make an attempt to defeat the forces of light from defeating Blaze. But during the biggest fight near the Pyramid of Argus, Kahn was able to defeat a number of warriors. But as he was making his way toward the top of the Pyramid, both Sahng Tsung turn on him and defeat him. It would be Argus' son Taven that would defeat Blaze and receive the power of the Elder Gods.

[edit] Mortal Kombat VS. DC Universe

Note: This story is not considered to be a prt of the original story As Kahn's forces were defeated by the Earthrealm warriors he appears in a graveyard with scorcerer Quan Chi who scalds Kahn for his failiure. Kahn then becomes upset with Quan Chi, then Raiden appears and subdues Kahn and then Quan Chi tries to escape from Kahn but is knocked down by Kahn's hammer. Raiden then pins Kahn to the portal in which disappears along with Kahn. As Raiden sends Quan Chi tot he Elder Gods for Judgment, little do the earthrealm warriors realize that Kahn's body has merged with another evil conqueror known as Darkseid from an entirely different universe. As the Earthrealm warriors were trying to solve this crisis and fighting against the heroes of the other universe, a being named Dark Kahn was formed from the merging of the 2 universes and creating a powerful force known as "Kombat Rage" which makes subjects want to fight. As Raiden along with the universes greatest hero Superman defeats Dark Kahn, Kahn then appears in Darkseid's throne room. Making an attempt to fight against the other universe's heroes, he fails. Kahn was then banished into the Phantom Zone.
