Mortal Kombat

Released in 1992, Mortal Kombat was not a Street Fighter clone, but was influenced by it. This game features graphics and game play that was considered groundbreaking for the time, it also featured fatalities, in which you can finish off your opponent graphically, either if its ripping your opponent's heart out, transforming your opponent into a block of ice and shattering them, or engulfing them in fire.
