Goro is a part of a race in edenia known as shokan, they served the king of edenia, and after Shao Kahn conquered the realm, they even served the emperor. Goro had exeptional skills and he would sweep any fighter before him. When he ventured into the earthrealm, and the Mortal kombat tournament was established in the realm, Goro would help the outworld win 9 tournaments in a row by living up to his reputation, he even defeated Kung Lao the legendary monk. But, in the 10th tournament, his reputation was tested as he was defeated by Kung Lao's descendent, Liu Kang. He went into seclusion thereafter, rumored went out that he was dead. But he would return to act revenge on Liu Kang during the fight against Shinnok.
